The Door by TranquilBoy The Door by TranquilBoy
My latest project, modeled and Cinema4D, textures are mixtures of procedurals and photo textures prepared in Photoshop. Rendered in C4D with a couple of lights trying to simulate some sort of radiosity.

Nice lighting & colors. I love the metaphors... Ladder, bell, planter, bicycle, flowers...
The lines are brilliant.

incredibly realistic (and I've been an observer of doors for some time).

I've featured this piece in my current journal (the only non-photography specimen): [link]

elijahtrevelyan Featured By Owner Feb 19, 2005  Hobbyist General Artist is absolutely incredible o_o

It looks so real! Like it\'s a photo! +fav for sure!
seankeeton Featured By Owner Sep 24, 2004
Wow! Your texturing is absolutely phenomenal. I have seen very little worthwhile 3D art on deviant art. The blue in the shadowed floor really compliments the orange, hanging pots nicely. The faked radiosity was successful. Very well done. :+fav:

And here I am, amazed again! This surely looks like a photograph... I can't even think of the work you must have had to do this. Great work, keep it up!

simply amazing! :omg:

and the fact that it was done in c4d... wow!

Rock solid texture work and lighting.
djmidori Featured By Owner Aug 5, 2004
Woooh. At first, I thought this was a photo. A really great job there. Me thinks the shadows 'edges' are rather sharp in that wall around the door and behind the planks.
But it's still a great piece. +fav!!

Wahnsinn, ich dachte zuerst dass das ein Photo ist, und alleine als Photographie wäre es schon beeindruckend... Respekt.

Yeesh. So many things here. ;-) Your use of color is impressive, not to mention the attention to detail. I love the scene as a whole and the lighting and subtle colors (the floor and the fading wall color for example) add a lot to the overall piece. Bravo! :D

I can't believe this is CG !!!
incredible work !!!
would have been a great picture, but it's even more impressive as cg !!!
dyefade Featured By Owner May 15, 2004
Wow!! VV impressed, sorry I'm late in commenting, found your image from here.

The best thing about this are the small details, such as on the bike. Well done!!

very good
asiantuntija Featured By Owner May 13, 2004
This is not excellent, this is Godlike :)
The whole atmosphere of this is so damn nice. Warm sun shining, door slighly open... damn you. You're too good.
Texturing is nearly photorealistic but modelling is absolutely great. So many little details like that bike and bell.
I'm so new with 3d-modelling. Especially with textures. All my failures makes this to look even more better.

Uh... I'm out of superlatives. What I wanted to say is that this is truly tremendous!
Haven't even seen rest of your gallery but I think I watch you just because of this.

i love how the door is partially cracked, it makes hte picture even more alluring. i like the colors as well, it almost gives it a dusty feel. this is absolutely beautiful

great scott!
this is beautiful!
in the thumbnail... i was wondering what beautfiul little european village this came from... now that I know it's a creation, not a capture, I'm even more impressed!

What tools do you use?

dont know what to say ... except - Fu#%ing awesome!
I can almost feel the afternoon heat radiating off the walls now that the sun has begun to set
ManixTT Featured By Owner May 12, 2004
Very nice, this is a great scene, simple but rarely do people do these. I would only say that some colors are oversaturated, I could be wrong. Good work thought!
seancoetzer Featured By Owner May 12, 2004
Brilliant. Well done.
Kyoofu Featured By Owner May 12, 2004

That's just incredible, probably the best render I've seen around here. :)
Draith Featured By Owner May 12, 2004
The level of detail here is simply AMAZING. Your workings with shadows makes this particularly realistic, as well as the texture you've applied to the walls... varied, and so real! It feels like I should look at this for hours, just so I could find every little piece of deatiling that you've added and sewn into the piece... otherwise I would be doing it a disservice to its greatness. Truly incredible work, I'm majorly floored and impressed! I have no more words!! :+fav: !!!

You can definitely see you put alot of work into this and it shows. Very nice, I love the texture work and 3d work in it, especially how you combined the two to collaborate together. Once again, very nicely done.
